    Mabon recap

Tuesday, September 25, 2007, 01:06 PM CST [Sabbats]

I hope everybody’s Mabon was lovely!

I know I have been away a bit and its due to several factors. Primarily, my home computer is not functioning – the main hard drive is dying, so I can’t get it to boot up completely. I have been keeping busy doing what I should be doing here at work where I have my desktop, and when I am at home, I’m just a little tuckered out or in the middle of something that I just don’t get around to using Sigurd’s computer.

I got to do a little bit for Mabon… I had a bit of a Mabon-themed ritual on Saturday, but the original purpose of it was for some personal spell craft (that originally I wanted to do Friday because of the associations and timing for love, but life happens and it got bumped a day)… But the theme of Autumn was a proper backdrop for my work. When the ritual was ended, I wanted some mini-candles to burn til their end, so I moved them to the kitchen where they would be safe. I had to tell Sigurd a little bit of a fib about why I had four candles burning in the kitchen. Even though he knows my path and probably already knew what I was up to, I don’t think we’re quite to the point where we can have a frank discussion about ritual and spell craft, (He was raised Catholic: you know how it goes…)

Anyway, I was doing really good checking in on them regularly and they were doing fine… until that final stretch of time when they begin burning a little bit faster at the end… and I walked in to a foot tall flame on the counter top… :-D Ahh, the joys of kitchen witchery.  Hilarity ensued trying to clean it all up… I was really surprised Sigurd didn’t say a bad word about it… I think it’s because we’ve lived in the apartment so long (keyword being “lived”) and we figure we’re probably not going to get our deposit back anyway, so… *shrugs.* Isn’t that just lousy of us?

Sunday I went to a small Harvest festival with my Gram to support my Mom at her group’s booth. They are in the process of founding a self-sustainable eco-village here in the area open to all faiths and walks of life. It’s really quite cool, I’ll have to write more about it later. It was nice to be out of doors, it was a gorgeous sunshiny day.

I know I have quite a bit of checking up to do with everyone, and I will try to make a little time this week to do so! Blessed Be, everyone!
